How do I start a focus session?

On Home, choose a short focus session. A task description and ambient sound are optional. You can also ask for a smaller AI-generated first step or return to a recent task. The timer and local progress work without an account.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

The iOS app includes up to three focus sessions and three AI task requests per day, core progress tools, and three ambient sounds for free. Pro adds unlimited focus sessions, expanded AI support and optional automated check-ins, plus more sound options and mixing. AI needs internet and is subject to service limits. The App Store listing shows the current device requirements and local purchase terms.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Settings or the upgrade screen and choose "Restore Purchases." Use the Apple account that made the purchase. Lifetime is no longer sold; existing purchases remain valid. If access does not return, contact support with the product name and purchase date. Never send a password or payment-card details.

How does optional AI help work?

You can ask for a small first step for a task. Pro also offers optional automated check-ins during a session. These messages are generated by AI; they are not a person working alongside you or medical advice. Task text and relevant context are sent through our service to the AI provider. You can use the timer and save a next step without AI.

Will my data sync between devices?

Optional account sync can upload focus history, including task descriptions and AI first steps saved with those sessions, and download that history on another signed-in device. It does not back up every setting or provide live timer handoff. The core timer and local progress work without an account.

How do ambient sounds work?

Just Start includes bundled ambient sounds, with three available free. You can choose a sound or silence for a focus session and adjust its volume. Pro adds more sound options and mixing. We make no specific provenance claim about their source material.

Is my data private?

The timer and local progress work offline. Optional AI, account sync, signed-in app events, and purchase services process data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can use the core timer without an account or AI. Account deletion is available in Settings after sign-in.

Manage Your Subscription

To cancel, change, or manage your Just Start Pro subscription:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find Just Start and manage from there

Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period.
