How to use this five-minute timer
- Choose a small step, or decide on one of your own.
- Press “Try a 5-minute start.” The countdown starts immediately.
- Work on just that step. Use Pause if you need to stop temporarily.
- When the time is up, choose another five minutes or finish for now.
The countdown follows elapsed time even if you switch tabs. There is no alarm sound, and refreshing or closing the page resets the timer. The browser timer does not save your task or send it to a server.
Why start with five minutes?
Five minutes is a small commitment you can change later. It is an option, not a scientifically optimal duration or a promise that you will feel focused. If five minutes feels too long, the iOS app also offers a two-minute start.
